Documentary photographer and director, Doug Menuez, once stood at the North Pole while it was still frozen, crossed the Sahara, had tea with Stalin’s daughter and held a chunk of Einstein’s brain in his hand. For the acclaimed photojournalist, the subject interest lies is the complexities, the beauty and innovation of humanity. An award-winning photographer, his career expands over 30 years, covering a range of photo journalism including the AIDS crisis in America, homelessness in America, politics, Super Bowls and the Olympics.
Menuez says the most inspiring experience in his career was covering Steve Jobs during the Digital Revolution, creating an archive that covers over one million images, cataloguing engineers, entrepreneurs and adventure capitalists who sparked the flow of technological innovation that changed the world forever. This work is what ultimately comprised his best selling book, Fearless Genius: The Digital Revolution in Silicon Valley 1985-2000. Largely affected from his time in Silicon Valley, Menuez continues to seek work that poses positivity and optimism for the human race, balancing the realities of our existence with that of beauty and hope.
